You only notice a quality lanyard after wearing it for several hours. It should not scratch, twist or pull on your neck, even when carrying a badge or a bunch of keys. For a one-off event, a lighter version with bold branding is enough; for employees and regular use, a sturdier material, safety breakaway and the right end fitting are worth it depending on what will hang from the cord. Branded keychains then easily complete the whole identification set.

Material, width and comfort

Narrower lanyards are light and cost-effective for training sessions, trade fairs or short-term events. A wider strap offers more space for your logo, sits better for all-day wear and looks more premium for employees, hostesses or the organising team.

Ends, clips and holders

A carabiner, ring, buckle and detachable part should all match whether the lanyard will carry a badge holder, plastic card or keys. A safety breakaway is practical in schools, workplaces, warehouses and events where the cord could get caught.
