Laser engraving

Laser engraving and 360° rotary engraving

Laser engraving is a durable and elegant technology for branding promotional items where the logo should look subtle, precise and long-lasting. It is especially suitable for metal, wood, bamboo, cork, glass and selected rigid plastics. Unlike classic printing, no ink is applied; the laser directly changes the surface of the material. You can find an overview of other methods on the printing technologies page.

What is laser engraving?

The artwork is prepared digitally and the laser beam then precisely removes or changes the top layer of the material. On colored metal products, the lower layer is often revealed, typically in a grey-silver tone. On wood, bamboo or cork, engraving highlights the natural structure of the material and the result is usually darker depending on the specific product.

Depending on the material, we use a fiber laser for metals and rigid materials or a CO2 laser for natural materials, glass, paper and selected surfaces. For rotary engraving, the product rotates during branding, so the design can run around cylindrical items.

We engrave only promotional items supplied by us. Before production, we prepare an artwork proof for your approval so that placement, size and final engraving appearance are clear in advance.

Permanent marking

The logo becomes part of the surface, so engraving is highly resistant to normal use.

Premium look

The result feels subtle and representative, ideal for higher-value corporate gifts.

Metal, wood and cork

Most often used for metal, wood, bamboo, cork and glass promotional products.

360° rotary engraving

On suitable cylindrical products, the design can be engraved around the item circumference.

When laser engraving is suitable

Laser is ideal where high durability, precision and a premium impression matter. Typical examples are metal bottles and thermal mugs, metal writing instruments, business card holders, keyrings, wooden gifts, bamboo products, USB drives and selected office accessories.

  • On metal, engraving looks clean and technical, often in a grey-silver tone.
  • On wood, bamboo and cork, the result is natural, but the shade can vary by material structure.
  • For full-color logos, gradients or strict Pantone matching, digital printing, UV printing or another technology may be more suitable.

Advantages and limitations of laser engraving

Advantages

  • Very durable and elegant branding without ink.
  • Especially suitable for metal, wood, bamboo, cork and selected rigid materials.
  • Premium look for higher-value promotional and corporate gifts.
  • Precise reproduction of smaller logos and text, depending on the material.
  • Rotary option allows engraving around the circumference on selected cylindrical items.

Limitations

  • This is not a color print; the final shade depends on the specific material and finish.
  • Very thin lines and tiny text are usually not ideal for wood.
  • On glass, fine detail may be less sharp than on metal.
  • With natural materials, engraving tone and texture can vary piece to piece.
  • Artwork should be supplied in vector format.
